Update! Ok! Now that "Fresh Off the Boat" has officially made its debut tonight, here are 8 reasons from TV Guide Executive Editor Hanh Nguyen why we need this network sitcom to succeed.

FRESH OFF THE BOAT ABC SITCOM“Fresh Off the Boat” is the first network sitcom about an Asian-American family in 20 years. The last was Margaret Cho’s short-lived “All-American Girl” in 1994 and 1995. Randall Park (The Interview) plays the father of a Taiwanese immigrant family. The cast includes children Hudson Yang, Ian Chen, and Forrest Wheeler, and the mother is played by Constance Wu.
