MATT DAMON IN THE GREAT WALL 2016-08-01The movie is director Zhang Yimou's English-language debut, "The Great Wall."

Actress Constance Wu ("Fresh Off the Boat"), writes on Twitter that this perpetuates a 'ractist myth - that only a (sic) white man can save the world.'

"It's not based in actual fact. Our heroes don't look like Matt Damon. They look like Malala. Ghandi. Mandela.

CNN writer Sandra Gonzalez provides 20 images in her story of examples of White actors cast as ethnic characters.
