RIGHT FOOTED - A DOCUMENTARY ON DISABILITY ACTIVIST JESSICA COX

"Right Footed" the inspiring documentary about Filipino American disability activist Jessica Cox who was born without arms is almost ready for distribution. Donate now through IndieGoGo to help the filmmakers complete this documentary. The film is directed by Nick Spark and produced by Mona Lisa Yuchengco, a documentary filmmaker, Filipino American community activist, and publisher of Filipinas magazine. Despite the challenges, Jessica managed to overcome both physical and emotional hurdles to become independent, learning to type with her toes, drive a car with her feet and - facing one of her greatest fears - learning to fly an airplane with her feet.

"Right Footed" is a portrait of Jessica's unexpected journey as she becomes an activist, working for disability rights in Washington, D.C. And Ethiopia, and bolstering the spirits of typhoon Haiyan survivors in the Philippines. The film also tells a very personal story - spanning over two years during which time Jessica gets married and begins a new life with her husband Patrick, and takes care of her mother Inez who is stricken with cancer.

"Right Footed" is one of only eight documentary projects selected this year to participate in Film Independent's prestigious 2014 FIND Documentary Lab, and is a winner of a 2014 Center for Asian American Media Documentary Grant.
