Long Beach, CA
Direct from a smash 4-city tour of Cambodia, "The Killing Fields of Dr. Haing S. Ngor" plays next at the Cambodia Town Film Festival in Long Beach on Sunday September 6, 2015 at 6:30pm.
Long Beach, California hosts the largest population of Cambodians outside Southeast Asia.
ADDED ATTRACTION: Come early and catch a revival screening of the 1984 film, "The Killing Fields" (starts at 3:15pm).
Set against Cambodia's Khmer Rouge reign of terror, this extraordinary story of love, loss and reconciliation chronicles Haing Ngor's journey from torture camps to winning an Oscar® for his first film, "The Killing Fields."
Ngor became an advocate for justice in his homeland, only to be gunned down in Chinatown Los Angeles – a murder still surrounded by transnational conspiracy theories.
Join director Arthur Dong, Dr. Ngor's niece Sophia Ngor, and Jack Ong, executive director of Dr. Ngor's foundation, for this closing night feature at the only Cambodian Film Festival in America!
