Rising Tohoku Food Fair comes to Torrance, California 

August 20-23, 2015 


AC -  Momorin mascot Fukushima City 600x800Food, dance, craft workshops including origami, Japanese lantern-making, and writing of wishes on tanzaku are among the exciting offerings at the Rising Tohoku Food Fair, which celebrates the Tohoku region of Japan at the 4 day event.


Mascots such as Fukushima City's Momorin rabbit will be available for photos with Fair attendess. Momorin, one of four city mascots to appear at the Fair, represents Fukushima's momo (peaches) and ringo (apples)


“We are so pleased that the Rising Tohoku Food Fair helps to draw attention to the seriousness of the Japanese earthquake and brings awareness to the ongoing recovery of the culturally rich Tohoku region which has so much to offer in terms of flavorful and refined cuisine, beautiful crafts, and goodwill,” says Hiroshi KamataChairman of the Federation of Six Tohoku Prefecture Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
