Cool New York 2009 DANCE Festival: January 28-February 8, 2009

White Wave presents the Cool New York 2009 DANCE Festival from January 28 - February 8, 2009 at WHITE WAVE's John Ryan Theater in Dumbo.

From January 28 February 8, 2009, White Wave is presenting the Cool New York 2009 DANCE Festival, featuring 63 companies, 189 dancers in 19 performances at WHITE WAVE's John Ryan Theater, 25 Jay St. in Brooklyn, NY. Emerging young choreographers and world-renowned ensembles will perform spectacular, innovative works in two weeks of stunning contemporary dance offered to the public FREE OF CHARGE.

WHITE WAVE launches the Cool New York 2009 DANCE Festival with a dazzling evening of performance and celebration at its annual dinner on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00pm. The benefit highlights WHITE WAVE's 21 extraordinary years of accomplishment as well as future projects including the Company's tour to Korea in Spring 2010 and a new WHITE WAVE Theater, planned to open in 2015. Performances by Anne-Sophie Fenner, Donlin Foreman/On Common Ground, Jamal Jackson Dance Company, Heidi Latsky Dance, Lindsey and Jason Dietz Marchant, Belinda McGuire, and WHITE WAVE RISING Young Soon Kim Dance Company will be followed by a black-tie champagne reception and buffet dinner with live music entertainment by the ever-popular Bossa Nova Beatniks!

"A Day for the Family" is a special program featuring dances the whole family can enjoy, and will be presented FREE at both Saturday matinee performances on January 31 and February 7 at 2:00 PM.

All other festival performances for Cool New York 2009 DANCE Festival are FREE OF CHARGE, although donations are encouraged. Tickets for festival performances are available at the door only; no reservations will be taken.

Festival performances take place Thursday to Sunday, January 29 February 1 and February 5 - 8, 2009. Thursday through Saturday show times are 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Sunday show times are 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
